More than Two Lakh Names Registered with 'in' Domain

NEW DELHI , INDIA – 5 November 2006 –National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) and Afilias India Private Limited announced that the ‘.in’ domain has reached 2,00,000¹ registrations, nearly doubling its presence in the market place since last year. The .IN registry has grown to nearly 30 times the initial size of approximately 6500 domains prior to the January 2005 re-launch. The re-launch included a more competitive price, expanded eligibility, a state of the art technology platform, and broader distribution through the global registrar network.

From October 19 to November 24, Internet users can vote for their favorite Web sites in five different categories from a short list at www.info-award.info.

MUNICH - November 2, 2006. Following a pre-selection round during which a jury of four experts from the field of media and communications evaluated several hundred entries, a total of eighteen .INFO-Web sites have made it to the short list.

Afilias Announces Launch of New IDN Scripts for .INFO Domain

DUBLIN, IRELAND – 23 October 2006 –Afilias, a global provider of Internet domain name registry services, announced today that it has released support for eight additional Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) language scripts in the .INFO generic top-level domain. These eight additional scripts join the German (DE) script that launched in 2004. The new scripts include: Polish (PL), Swedish (SV), Danish (DA), Hungarian (HU), Icelandic (IS), Latvian (LV), Lithuanian (LT), and Korean (KO).

To mark the fifth anniversary of the .INFO domain, internet registry Afilias has launched a competition to find the best .INFO web sites in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and is offering EUR18,000 in prize money for the winning entries.

.aero registry receives service upgrade to enhance domain
